Custom Lead Assembly Applications

Nuclead offers Custom Lead Assemblies, Lead Lamination, lead PSA, Lead Adhesives Lead Stamping, Lead Sawing, Lead Cutting

Lead Assemblies are products that consist of multiple lead components or other components, usually assembled or joined in specific configurations to meet detailed customer specifications or custom applications.

Various processes are involved in the building of these custom lead assemblies, including lead lamination, joining via lead adhesives or lead welding, lead stamping, lead machining, and lead cutting.

Typically the lead assembly will itself be part of a much larger machine or tool. They are used many different industries, but in particular in the medical field and in the instrumentation industry.

A good example of a medical assembly of this type is used in the construction of MRI machines. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) machines are large machines that allows a patient’s body to be scanned in the presence of magnetic fields and radio waves. These combined fields line up protons within the soft tissue of the body and allow computer generated images to be generated.

The MRI machine has to be shielded from local interference from cell phones, computers or other instruments in the hospital. Nuclead offers Custom Lead Assemblies, Lead Lamination, lead PSA, Lead Adhesives Lead Stamping, Lead Sawing, Lead Cutting

Also, since the MRI machine generates high magnetic fields any nearby equipment, such as sensitive instruments or magnetic media, has to be protected. This is done by building a specific lead shield (custom lead assembly) within the MRI machine, designed to fit specifically around the coils in the MRI machine.

Other uses for lead assemblies include transportation and storage containers and instrumentation shielding.
