This week Nuclead shipped several lead shielding orders to medical supply companies, as well as lead sheet orders, lead diving weights and lead wool.
Lead Shielding for medical use can be of several forms including lead sheetrock where the lead is embedded in the sheetrock to provide for radiation shielded walls such an X-ray room. Lead shielding can also be in the form of movable lead shields, which often consists of a thin sheet of lead thick enough to provide enough shielding, sandwiched between two layers of Formica and mounted on wheels. Lead shielding can also mean wearable lead shields such as lead aprons, lead blankets, lead thyroid shields or lead lined gloves.
