The lead foil products to shipped to customers throughout the USA and Canada for various applications, often laminated via pressure sensitive adhesive to backing material

Cambridge, MA March 29th 2017 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for lead foil and copper foil, delivered to customers throughout the United States and Canada.

Applications and Uses for Lead Foil

There are numerous applications for lead foil, mostly these are a result of the basic properties of lead such as malleability, radiation blocking and high density. In addition, metal foils are easy to work with as they can be cut with shears to shape and dimension.

Typical examples include:

  • Radiation shielding
  • Sealing and lubrication in oil wells
  • Soundproofing
    Laboratory research
  • Medical and dental
  • Sports (for adding weight to cubs and rackets)
  • Moisture and corrosion resistance
  • Military applications

Lead and Copper Foil backing material

Often metal foils are attached to suitable backing materials – the backing material will protect the foil allowing it to be rolled onto fiber cores, and to reduce the chances of creasing and to make it easier to cut accurately.

Typical backing materials include vinyl and release paper, the metal foils are attached to vinyl using pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). Nuclead can laminate, stamp and cut metal foil for any application.

Here are some of the recent shipments of lead foil and copper foil
