Nuclead Announces the Shipment of Several Orders for Lead Wire for the medical and sports industries

The lead wire will be used in various applications including industry, medical, sports and hobbies.

Cambridge, MA April 26, 2016 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of numerous orders for lead wire, delivered to customers throughout the United States.

What is lead wire used for?

Lead has several properties that make it useful for many applications among these are radiation protection, chemical resistance, high density and flexibility.

In the form of lead wire, applications include:

Nuclead can supply lead wire rolled on heavy duty spools or cut to customer specifications. Standard or custom sizes 1/32″ to 3/4″ diameter in 50 lb. spools. Diameters 3/4″-1.5″ come in 25 lb. lengths. Diameters up to 6″ can also be fabricated.

Lead Wire shipments

Here are some of Nuclead’s recent shipments of lead wire:

  • Fabricate and ship 7/16″ diameter pure lead wire; ship to a battery OEM in Georgia for test of new battery designs
  • Extrude 1/2″ diameter pure lead wire on 25 pound spools. Sold to an equipment repair company in Illinois. This company uses the soft lead to run through large steel gears to make contact impressions, using the information provided by the impressions, the craftsman can reset them to the proper clearances to maintain proper performance.
  • Fabricate and ship pure lead wire spools: Sold to a whole seller in California.
  • Fabricate and ship special solder alloy; sold to an electronic OEM in California. The alloy is Sn10 / WS (No silver) / Pb Balance. .190″ dia. solder wire, supplied on 25 pound spools.
  • Extrude 1/2″ diameter pure lead wire. Sold to a machine shop in New York for its own value added services. This repeat customer buys on an annual basis & has increase Quantities every year.
  • Fabricate and ship 1/2″ diameter pure lead wire: Sold to a machine shop in Massachusetts for its own value added services.
  • We fabricated and shipped 5,000 lbs. of 3/8″ dia. lead wire, which specifically manufactured per customer specification. The lead wire was supplied to a medical OEM in Edinboro, PA. and is to be used for pediatric medical devices. This item is used for lead’s heavy and flexible properties to be bent into a shape with no movement afterwards. This is a regular customer who buys lead wire every year.
  • Fabricated and shipped3/8″ diameter solid pure lead wire. Sold to an Electrical distributor in Tucson, AZ
  • Fabricate custom lead alloy wire solder. Sold to a general contractor in Marion, OH
  • Fabricate and ship 1/4″ diameter pure lead wire. Sold to a mining and drill oiling company in Cypress, TX, for product development.
  • 11/16″ solid lead wire was fabricated and sold to an Ivy League university, it will be used for ballast at for its rowing team program.
