Nuclead announces the shipment of several orders for radiation shielding products for customers in the USA and Canada

The radiation shielding products shipped include lead shielding, lead glass, lead bricks and lead acrylic

Cambridge, MA June 27, 2017 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for radiation shielding products such as lead shielding, lead bricks, lead glass and lead acrylic. The orders have been shipped over recent weeks to customers in the USA and Canada.

Applications

The applications for radiation shielding include X-ray shielding and MRI shielding in the medical industry, and radiation protection for workers in the nuclear industries, research and the military.

The radiation getting through falls exponentially with the thickness of the shield. In x-ray facilities, the rooms are lined with lead sheetrock, operators stay behind a leaded glass and wear lead aprons.

In MRI Machines custom shaped lead shielding is built into the design of the machine. Nuclead has the capability to specially fabricate custom shielding to your specifications depending on your needs. Materials for neutron shielding and nuclear shielding are also available

In the nuclear industry lead bricks are used to create nuclear shields and radiation walls

Lead Shielding

  • Fabricate and ship, special sized and tolerance 6% antimony lead shielding. Sold to a NDT OEM in New York. This customer has purchased many times from Nuclead, primarily for their prototype orders. Because of Nuclead large inventory, we are able to deliver smaller orders such as these quickly to the customer which essential.
  • Saw and ship Chemical Lead sheet/foil: 1/16″ x 12.00″ x 12.00″ Sold to an Energy company in Canada for shielding purposes
    Saw and ship 4# lead shielding: Sold to an Electrical Contractor for shielding purposes in Maryland.
  • Laminate lead shielding to a nuclear storage vessel provided by the customer: Sold & shipped to the United State Army Depot after completed.
  • Pick and ship from inventory Lead pipe: 1.00″ id x 1/8″ wall x 60.00″: Sold to a Canadian energy company for Radiation shielding.
  • Pick and ship for inventory: Lead Rolls: 1/16″ x 48.00″ x 240.00″: Sold to a General contractor in Puerto Rico for a hospital renovation. The lead rolls are to be used for x-ray shielding.
  • Saw and ship 1 mm Radiation Shielding in sheet form per QQ-L-201-f: Sold to a machine shop in New York for its own value-added service.

Lead Bricks

  • Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Interlocking 1″ x 4″ x 8″ lead bricks, chevron style. Sold to a cancer center in Louisiana for radiation protection
  • Fabricate and ship several tons of “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Interlocking 1″ x 4″ x 8″ brick, chevron style. Sold to a cancer center in Louisiana for radiation shielding of a new radiology department.
  • Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Brick: 2.00″ x 4.00″ x 12.00”: Sold to a Hospital for their radiation departments’ Radiation shielding.
  • Fabricate and ship several orders of “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square Edges Lead Brick: 2″ x 4″ x 8″. Sold to a radiation detection OEM of portable NDT x-ray equipment in New England.

Lead Glass and Lead Acrylic

  • Cut and ship Lead Acrylic: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 18.00″ x 24.00″ x 0.50mm Le x 12.00mm thick x 150kv: Sold to a University in Canada a s research department.
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly: 17.63″ x 31.63″ x 9mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv: Sold to a Glass company in North Dakota for replacement of X-ray shielding in a local hospital.
  • Cut and ship: Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 19.75″ x 43.75″ x 8.5mm-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv: Sold to a general contractor in North Carolina to be used as X-ray glass in a veterinary clinic.
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: 11.75″ x 23.75″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv Provided for customer prep &/or assembly: Sold to a Contractor in New England for a local medical facilities X-ray control room.
  • Fabricate and ship custom machined lead Acrylic to customers blue print specifications, using 0.8mm lead equivalency x 18mm thick acrylic.
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 17.63″ x 31.63″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a glass company working on a hospital in North Dakota.
  • Saw and ship Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 36.00″ x 36.00″; sold to a medical OEM in new England for radiation shielding of their equipment
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 10.00″ x 12.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a medical OEM in Florida for a prototype research equipment.
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 12.00″ x 12.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a general contractor in Ohio for a medical facility x-ray room installation, for x-ray shielding.
