Cambridge, MA December 24, 2015 – Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of lead radiation shielding products announces the recent delivery of several orders for various custom forms of lead radiation shielding products to customers throughout the United States

What is Lead Radiation Shielding?

Many applications particularly in the medical field, in the nuclear industry and the military use various forms of radiation for diagnostic and power generation purposes. Since radiation is generally harmful to life, steps must be taken to prevent excessive or unnecessary exposure. Lead radiation shielding, can be any product made of lead that is configured to provide shielding of radiation sources.

Lead is an ideal material for radiation shielding, due to its high density. Radiation is reduced exponentially as it travels through lead. In addition, lead can be easily formed into any desired configuration by molding, machining, bending or pressing.

Nuclead supplies lead radiation shielding in many forms including lead sheet, lead bricks, lead sheetrock, lead aprons as well as custom built forms to customer drawings. Below are several examples of recent shipments.
