Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as Lead Shielding and X-ray Shielding, Lead Alloys, Lead Soundproofing.

Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.

Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.

Fabricated Lead Products

  • Lead lined: Fabricate custom x-ray shielding protection box per customer blueprints, including painting & lead x-ray glass assembly. Sold and shipped to a laboratory in New England for test elements with x-rays.
  • Lead shielding turning: Fabricate complete per blueprints provided RFQ: Unless otherwise specified…Price includes all applicable labor, materials, tolerances and notes. Price to include Spray paint. Units sold and shipped to University of Virginia for experimentation on nuclear waste. These special units protect the scientist during these experiments.
  • Fabricate special lead soundproofing materials. Sold to a firm in the North East that provides engineering and custom soundproofing to defense contractors.
  • Fabricate Lead Coil Sheet; 3% Antimony / 97% Lead: 1/16″ x 1.25″ x 291.00″ coil (3.00″ diameter ID max coils) per QQ-L-201 f. Sold to a reseller in Florida and to be shipped to a supplier in New England for unknown value added services.
  • Cast Lead: Pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots. Sold to a mining OEM in the North East for use in their engine fabrication processes.
  • Fabricate Lead foil: 0.002″ x 6.00″ x 23 lb. lead coils. Package with end protection required to protect during shipment. Sold to University of Rochester for radiation shielding testing.
  • Fabricate special lead alloys: per customer supplied specifications: Provide materials into Wiping Solder: 40/60 (Tin/Lea alloy); in 5lb ingots. Sold to a transit system that uses the materials for maintenance of their subway electrical system.
  • Fabricate and ship Lead foil: 0.010″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50# per UNS L51121: and Lead foil: 0.005″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50# per UNS L51121. Sold to an OEM in the Northeast for radiation shielding for Lockheed Martin’s special packing needs.
  • Fabricate and ship several component items per customer supplied blueprints. These items are fabricated complete per prints including all tolerances, materials, finishes and painting. They are to be used in backscatter x-ray equipment for the department of homeland security.
  • Lead Cast “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Brick: 1.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″. Sold to a medical imaging OEM in California that uses the lead for x-ray shielding in their equipment sold to medical facilities across the United States.
  • Fabricate with CNC Milling centers, lead shielding per customer provided blueprints. Sold to a medical imaging company working on new equipment for Siemens Medical Imaging.

  • Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: .687″ wide x .500″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 60′) spool(s). “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a restoration company in the mid-west for a stone restoration project in Chicago, IL.
  • Extrude Lead wire: 1/2″ Dia. x 25 lb. spool. Sold to a hardware store in Louisiana for resell to unknown buyers.
  • Lead Extrusion: Weather-T- Caps: 11/16″ wide x 1/2” joint depth x 25# (Ref: 60′) spool(s). Min buy: 25#; “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a local waterproofing company for several stone foundation repairs in the local area.
  • Saw and package & deliver: Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 2.50″ x 291.00; Sold to National Laboratory using the items for lead radiation shielding.
  • Fabricate and ship lead extrusions: Lead pipe: 2.50″ id x 1/8″ wall x 30.00″ lg. Sold to a marina in California using the lead pipe as custom fitting ship ballast.
  • Pick and ship tons of Magnum Lead balls: 2.6 mm diameter (#7) (.100″ dia.). Shipped to a plating house in New England for special electroplating processes for Sikorsky Helicopter
