Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the USA.
Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.
Recent Shipments
- Fabricate and cut Lead pipe: 5.50″ id x 5/32″ wall x 61.00″ lg and sell as lead shielding. Delivered to an industrial electrical contractor for lead shielding. Lead pipe for sale is for commercial and industrial use only. Lead tubing is preferred to be seamless for this electrical shielding requirements.
- Fabricate and roll Lead Soundproofing sheet: (1.15#) 0.020″ x 48.00″ x 240.00″; Re-roll mill fabricated product onto one solid fiber core. Deliver to a custom soundproofing customer that manufacturers components for the US government and Sub-contracts in New York. The certified lead sheeting will be used in a new lead assembly and shipped in August, 2023. Lead is so dense and flexible, it is the perfect soundproofing material for many industrial applications.
- Extrude Type B Weathercaps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x Two (2) 8′ lengths. Type B” = Inside 90 degree corner cap. Shipped to a waterproofing firm in Oregon for a custom lead order. Lead construction items are shipped quickly to arrive on the customers’ site. Water damage can be an issue if not processed in this manner.
- Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: 5lbs bags. Delivered to an energy company in the Northwest for propeller balance of windmills that produce power to the grid. The shredded lead is compressed to form a lead bar into tight cavities to produce a lead counterweight.
- Cut a lead plate package consisting of 1/16″ x 40.00″ x 40.00″; 1/8″ x 22.00″ 30.00″; 1/8″ x 26.00″ x 32.00″; 1/8″ x 17.00″ x 36.00″; 3/16″ x 30.00″ x 30.00″. Delivered via Nuclead Trucking to a machine shop in New England for a value-added process using CNC equipment. Lead sheets were called out by their customer on the blueprints. The lead plate for sale is a lead product without voids per QQ-l-201-f. Pure lead products are required for commercial applications where radiation shielding is required.
- Cut Lead Strips: 0.031″ x 7.75″ x 9.75″ and Shear Lead Strips: 0.010″ x 14.00″ x 17.00″. Shipped to a machine shop in Missouri for lead shielding of their own value-added services. This customer provides an array of work but specializes in machine tool repair. The lead sheeting is being used as lead shims for way covers. The soft nonferrous metals where required for a custom application of an industrial CNC machine tool. Lead sheet for sale by Nuclead was customized and shipped on time.
- Provide custom Lead flashing 0.040″ x varied” x 24LF rolls. Shipped to a general contractor in Virginia for a commercial roofing job. This inter-state company works primarily on commercial and industrial projects consisting of management, design, analysis and real estate development. This was a custom cut order in many widths for a difficult issue requiring custom lead construction products from Nuclead. Nuclead provide the lead rolls quickly and as ordered to an industrial site in North Carolina.
- Fabricate custom, special non-stock lead items of lead foil: 0.005″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50 lb. per UNS L51121. Rolls of lead sheeting for sale must be from the same lot number per customer written purchase order. Sold to a government sub-contractor for radiation shielding in an aerospace application. Lead shielding is required to protect people and equipment. For this application, thin lead sheet metal is the engineering choice for this assembly.
- Sold and delivered to a commercial masonry firm in Pennsylvania, lead extrusions of Lead T- Caps: 11/16″ wide x 1/2″ joint depth x 25 lb. spools. “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Codes, for restoration work orders in an industrial setting. Nuclead sells all lead construction products including lead flashing, lead lined doors, walls and frames, along with lead glass and lead lined drywall. We are able to deliver custom orders quickly, on time and to written specifications.
- Pick and ship Re-claimed, Range or Used Lead Shot/Balls for Re-loading, Ballast, Re-melting or Misc., Weight: Mixed sizes, debris & grades. Sold to a national luxury bath OEM that uses the lead products for sale as lead shot ballast for manufacturing equipment. The lead counterbalance weight is used to fine tune some bath components during the assembly process. Because of the dense properties, lead weights are the best option for these commercial applications.
- Fabricate Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 40′ spools. This was a custom cut lead order that was non-returnable of “Type A” = Flat cap. The custom order was shipped to a commercial general contractor in New York City for building restoration of a federal building.
- Using Nuclead CNC Lathe machine tools, the US Army Depot purchased custom lead casks. The small casks where produced with pure pig lead and cast into lead ingots of 2.50” diameter lead billets. The finished machined lead product was supplied per the blueprints provided with their order. Lead shielding was required to store waist during radiation testing. As a secondary lead smelter in the US, Nuclead was able to cast the lead to near finished shape to save cost and finish using the CNC equipment to the tight required tolerances.
- Saw custom lead items for a commercial customer in Massachusetts. Nuclead picked, in stock 6% Antimony Lead Sheet and cut lead to 13/16″ x 2.50″ x 6.50″ (+1/6″ / -0.000″) tolerances. The machine shop will be machining custom industrial items from Nuclead’s lead products to their customers specifications. The lead plate with antimony alloy is a hard lead. Soft lead is more pure lead and more bendable.
- Produce and ship special lead items of Lead foil: 0.005″ (+/- 0.0005″) x 12.00″ x 50# per coils per UNS L51121 and certify the same. The lead shielding will be used for a military department’s assembly processes of space flight items that need radiation shielding to protect sensitive, microelectronics.
- Cast Square edges, Lead Brick: 2.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″ and deliver to buyer in Maryland that specializes in Radiology Therapy treatments. The radiation shielding will be used during therapy seasons on cancer patients. Lead shielding is required due to the high amounts of radiation used. Lead lined drywall, with lead sheets are not used in this application.
