lead wire, lead wool, lead lining, lead roundsEvery month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as lead wire, lead wool, lead lining, lead rounds.

Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.

Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.

Fabricated Lead Products

  • Fabricate and ship Pure Lead Wire: 1/2″ Dia. x 25 lb. spools. Sold to a Hardware store in the gulf region for re-sale.
  • Extrude Lead Wire & ship: 5/8″ dia. x 25-50 lb. spools.: Sold to an aviation repair hanger in Missouri for balance weights during required routine maintenance.
  • Fabricate and ship Lead Rounds: 3.00″ dia., x 36.25″ long to be used as 105# lead counterweight applications. These round lead weights are to be used for a commercial life boat manufacturer for lead ballast.
  • Extrude Lead Bar Stock: 1.25″ dia. x 22 lb. lengths (Ref: 36.00″ long).
    Will conform to QQ-L-201f: Sold to a machine shop in New England for its own value-added CNC Turning center fabrication.
  • Extrude Pure Lead wire: 5/16″ Dia. x 50 lb. spools; Sold 1 ton to a medical OEM in the northeast that uses the lead materials for its heavy and soft properties for their application.
  • Extrude Lead coil: 1/4″ x 1.00″ x 25 lb. coils. Sold to a restoration company in Arlington Virginia for site maintenance in the National Cemetery
  • Fabricate and ship per customer provided blue prints; lead x-ray shielding components for a security backscatter OEM on the west coast.
  • Lead Lining per Customer blue prints: Rolls – 12.00” x 108 ft – 3m 97057 transfer adhesive laminated to Nuclead lead item of rolls – 0.010″ lead foil x 12” x 50# (83′). Laminate the lead to 3m 97057 conductive transfer adhesive to one side: Supplied on plastic core. Rolls are to be wound with PSA liner side out. This lead lined item is for a defense contractors’ space systems division for satellite radiation protection while in outer space.
  • Fabricate and ship “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square Edges Lead Brick: 2.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″: To be painted 100% coverage with Black with Durachem 235. Sold to an engineering, consulting and manufacture, Nuclead provided a quick delivery for these special lead items with finishes to specifications.
  • Fabricate and ship Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1″ wide x .687″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a waterproofing firm in the Southwest for a back log of work pending.
  • Fabricate and ship Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to a bearing OEM in the mid-west for their manufacturing processes.

  • Saw and ship Lead sheet: 3/4″ x 18.00″ x 18.00″: Sold to a Power company in the mid-west for radiation shielding.
  • Saw and ship Chemical Lead sheet/foil: 1/16″ x 12.00″ x 12.00″. Sold to a manufacturer in Canada for unknow purposes.
  • Pick and ship Pure lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3.00″ x 3.00″ x 18.00″, loaf shape); sold to a machine shop in Texas for its own bearing Babbitt processes.
  • Pick and ship from in stock inventory Lead threaded, fit all plugs: 1.50″ thru 6” diameter. Sold to a local plumbing firm that buys from Nuclead on a regular basis.
  • Pick and ship 1.50″ Lead Outlets @ 50 PCs. /carton: Sold to a national hardware and building distributor in the Northeast for re-sale.
  • Pick and ship from in stock inventory Lead threaded, fit all plugs: 6” diameter. Sold to a plumbing firm in New York for a hospital project in the Bronx.
  • Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: Sold to aviation maintenance hangar in Florida for propeller maintenance.
  • Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: Sold to a restoration stone company in New York using the lead wool for it repair processes.
  • Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: Sold to a hardware store in Oklahoma for resale.
