The Pig Lead will be used for several applications such as ship ballast, radiation shielding, lead counterweights
Pig lead often refers to unrefined lead that can be sold for additional processing including re-melt or ship ballast. However, Nuclead has the capabilities to refine pig lead to a high level of purity, alloy the pig lead with other metals such as antimony, tin, zinc, bismuth and copper. or to provide additional value-added services such as coatings or other finishes.
Common forms of pig Lead include:
- Pure lead pig ingots, approx. 60 lb. ingots per ANSI/ASTM-B29
- 6% antimony lead, approx. 25 lb. ingots
- Caulking lead, 99.94% pure, in 5 lb. ingots attached together for a 25 lb. strip >
- 5 lb. lead ingots
Nuclead can provide all sizes and weight up to 40,000 lbs. (up to 100,000 lbs. for special pours) in any material from 99.99% pure lead to any percentage of alloy.

- Fabricate tooling and cast 2% antimony lead pigs for radiation protection for nuclear waste storage. Sold to a reseller who inventories and sells these items from stock; to any company needs lead shield radiation casks.
