Pig Lead, Lead Weights, Babbitt, Lead RingsEvery month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as Pig Lead, Lead Weights, Babbitt, Lead Rings.

Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the world.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.

Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.

Fabricated Lead Products

  • Fabricate and ship to General Dynamics: 60lbs each; Abbreviation Nomen: Pig Lead, Size: 3.00″ x 4.00″ x 12.00″lg; Profile:54 Pref Code 9290 MCC:316-Source code 66: Per QQ-L-171 Grade B; Encapsulate with high build epoxy; Devran #235; Coating to be black color, 8.0 mils thick & cured; Packaged Weather proof packaging.
  • Fabricate complete pure lead pig ingots, approx. 60# – 70# ingots per ANSI / ASTM B29. Only >=99.98% pure lead allowed for this customer, No Alloyed lead or tin materials allowed. Ship virgin caulking lead to a commercial engine OEM in Illinois for their production process.
  • Fabricate and ship a unique lead weight package. Fabricate complete per quote & sketch provided ARO: Package consists of twenty Lead Blocks to be 0.75″ x 24.63″ x several lengths with 45-degree chamfers: Shipped to timber mill in Canada for lead counter weights of special machinery.
  • Fabricate and ship Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to a bearing manufacturer in Arkansas for their assembly process for production bearings.
  • Fabricate and ship per customer supplied blue prints: Special lead radiation shielding, all the same item for one large release. Sold to a machine shop in Ohio that are using the lead shielding for part of a large lead assembly, for x-ray shielding.
  • Fabricate complete lead shear rings per customer blue prints & ship to them in Pennsylvania. For one lot using Lead sheet that must comply to print note #2-A: (per QQ-L-201f Grade C, >= 99.91% Lead (Pb)); and for a second lot using Lead sheet: that must comply to print note #2-B: (Lead Corroding per ASTM B29, >=99.94% Lead (Pb)). Shear rings were fabricated for a tight aerospace application. The alloys & tolerances must be 100% compliant as not to do damage to equipment nor personnel.
  • Fabricate and ship Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1″ wide x .687″ joint depth x 25# (Ref: 40′) spool(s). Sold to a Masonry Company in Pennsylvania to restore a church over 200 years old back to its original conditions.

Min buy: 25#; “Type A” = Flat cap; Per U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Historic Preservation Technical Procedures Code: #07656-01 & #765601S. Sold to a specialized roofing contractor in New England for a commercial waterproofing and restoration project in Rhode Island.
  • Fabricate and ship per customer supplied blue prints, using AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate: .080″ x 48.25″ x 48.25”. Sold and ship to a Canadian Aerospace sub-contractor for its own lead assembly items.
  • Fabricate and ship Lead door(s): Solid Wood no panels, 1/16″ Lead (Laminated thickness: approx. 1.38″ + 1/4″ + lead) x 30.00″ x 84.00″. Customer responsible for all prep, hardware, finishes and assembly. Sold to a Millworks company in North Carolina along with radiation protection glass. Both lead items are to be used for x-ray shielding for the new construction in their state.
  • Fabricate and ship release 2 of 3 of lead soundproofing component parts for Lockheed Martin MS2-Radar Systems, for the US Navy’s’ Los Angeles, Sea wolf and Virginia Class submarine platforms. The LCCA is a passive planar sonar array mounted on a submarine’s aft sail structure and integrated with the Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off-The-Shelf Insertion AN/BQQ-10 sonar system. LCCA represents a significant new submarine capability that will enhance situational awareness, tactical control and collision avoidance in crowded littoral and dense shipping environments. The array will be integrated with AN/BQQ-10 sonar systems.

  • Saw & ship: Lead sheet per QQ-L-201: 1/16” x 24.00:x 48.00”: Sold to a wholesaler in Florida for re-sale.
  • Ship Cut Lead sheet: 1/16″ x 8.00″ x 48.00″ to a machine shop in the Northeast for its own value-added services.
  • Cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. (Maybe substituted with 5/64″ Le x 9mm thick at no extra charge as inventory allows) (Digital photo required before shipment) 3.875″ x 29.375″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a glass company in Virginia for resale.
  • Pick and ship Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: Sold to a Mason Supervisor for a large private universities Facilities Management. The Masons use the lead wool to re-point loose mortar joints in old stone buildings several hundred years old.
  • Pick and ship Lead balls: Ref 1.20 mm (#12 – .047″/.040″dia.); Sold to a sportsman’s club in California for use by its members.
  • Pick and ship 1.50″ Lead Outlets @ 50 PCs. /carton and 1.75″ Lead Outlets @ 40 PCs. /carton. Sold to a national lumber wholesaler in the northeast for resale.
  • Pick and ship 2″ Lead Gutter Outlets @ 30 PCs. /carton; sold to an Architectural Preservation company in New England for a restoration project in Connecticut.
  • Pick and ship tons of Pure lead Pig ingots, approx. 40#-70# ingots (approx. size: 3.00″ x 3.00″ x 18.00″, loaf shape): Sold to an architectural OEM that needs lead counter balance for their equipment.
  • Pick and ship Lead balls: Ref 1.20 mm (#12 – .047″/.040″dia.); Sold to a self-driving automobile OEM in California for counterweight purposes of the device. The Lead shot has to be small and comply by weight and dimensions, as to maintain the proper weight in a very small cavity.
  • Pick and ship Lead sheet: 1/32″ x 48.00″ x 120.00″: For Lead Soundproofing materials sold to a Quality building improvement company in the North East for a noise reduction project of a commercial property.
