Every month at Nuclead we ship a large variety of lead-based products such as Lead Glass, X-ray Shielding, Lead Weights, Scrap Lead

Here are some of the items we shipped recently to customers around the USA.

Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services.

Recent Shipments

• Cast Pure Lead billet: 26# 2.375” to 2.625″ tapered (2.440″ dia) x Ref: 13.00″ long and extrude into Weather-T- Caps: 1.50″ wide x 13/16″ joint depth x 25# “Type A” = Flat cap. Sold and delivered via Nuclead Trucking to a general contractor in Connecticut for stone flashing of history buildings. Nuclead also provided Free Sample: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth and 11/16″ wide x 1/2″ joint depth. Both Approximately 12.00″ long of “Type B” = corner cove cap, for engineering approvals for a GC in New Jersey. Nuclead also provides a large order of 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 40′ coiled spools “Type A” = Flat cap and delivered to a reconstruction company in North Carolina for restoration projects. Along with these Nuclead ship commercial lead construction products to a GCs in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New York.
• Cut Lead Glass to customer supplied specification. Provided for customer preparation &/or assembly. 18.00″ x 24.00″ x 9mm x 5/64″Le x 150kvp. Ship via LTL trucking to a proteomics life science corporation on the West Coast. The lead shielding items will be used as x ray protection during research and development applications.
• Pick and ship Lead foil:  0.010″ x 16.00″ x 50# (Ref:756.00″) to a medical OEM in New England via Nuclead Trucking. The lead shielding items will be used as radiation shielding with PSA applied for a medical OEM. The thin lead sheeting will protect people and equipment when in use.
• Cast and coat per customer written specification, custom Cast Square edges, Lead Brick: 2.44″ x 4.57″ x 8.75″. Shipped using full truck load 3^rd party to an oceanographic company in Texas and Rhode Island. The firm uses special lead weights for underwater testing and research. The industrial lead products are used as lead counterbalance while collecting samples on the sea’s bottom.
• Pick and ship 150 # of lead wool per Lead Wool per QQ-C-40: 5lbs bags or lead rope. Sold to an energy municipality in Washington for an emergency power outage. The in-stock lead products when shipped via UPS next day air for this emergency situation.
• Pick AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate: 1/16″ x 7.13″ x 7.13″: (1.3# each) Cert’s of analysis required, Flat lead sheeting, and CNC mill to yield; AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate: 0.044 – 0.048″ x 6.420″ –  6.405″ OD. Per Customer PO, extra caution to Edge Break best effort within 0.005” maximum. The custom lead products were shipped via Nuclead Trucking to a manufacturer in New England. The end product is for an unknown military department application. This custom hard lead product was delivered to the customer for its commercial use and value-added services.
• Cut Lead Glass to 25.00″ x 25.00″ x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kvp. Custom certifications required included CofC: 010- DOA3 Government order: Provide a signed CofC: 1) Referencing the buyer’s purchase order number and specifying the items being certified. Certificate of Compliance shall certify that: All items furnished in this shipment are in full compliance with the requirements of the purchase order, including specifications. 2) CONFLICT MINERALS. Components must be certified to be in compliance with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act Conflict Minerals regulations. 3) Certify: MERCURY EXCLUSION. Mercury or mercury containing compounds shall not be intentionally added or come in direct contact with hardware or supplies furnished under this Order. 4) Certify: POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS PROHIBITION. Nuclead shall not employ equipment or use material that is known or suspected of containing polychlorinated biphenyls. Delivered via Nuclead Trucking to a customer that makes custom marine windows and doors and wipers for USCG vessels.
• Cast soft lead into large cast iron cavities. The 40,000# lead weight order is used as lead counterbalance for bridge weights. This full truck load order was expedited and shipped very quickly using the customer’s own trucking. This helped get the lead weights to their destination with hours of completion to save the contractors from paying penalties to the state of Pennsylvania.
• Cut Lead 6% antimony: 1.00″ x 17.00″ x 22.00″ and CNC machine to customer supplied blueprints, custom x ray shielding. Lead shielding was delivered to a commercial customer for x ray protection during border crossing scanning to protect clients and operators.
• CNC mill AMS-7721 Antimony lead plate to 0.044” – 0.048″ thick x 6.420″ – 6.405″ OD, per customer PO and specifications using extra caution to Edge Break all edges 0.005” maximum. Deliver by Nuclead Trucking to a machine shop in Connecticut for their own value-added services of lead lined x ray shielding. The lead order also contained blueprints of syntactic foam components for lead soundproofing in the assembly. Lead sheets provide lead shielding for radiation and x ray protection. The more protection the thicker the lead plates must be. Nuclead’s expert’s craftsman can produce any configuration to comply with any custom, commercial, or industrial requests by its customers.
• Provide Free Samples of Nuclead’s Lead Extrusions: Weather-T- Caps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x Approx. 12.00″; “Type A” = Flat cap. Shipped via UPS to a general construction company in Pennsylvania. The customer required engineering approval before purchasing a larger order pending.
• Pick and ship Stock-Scrap Lead solids and/or sheet: For miscellaneous Weight, Ballast, or Re-melting. Miscellaneous sizes & grades. Delivered via Nuclead Trucking to a marina in Massachusetts for boat ballast. Lead weights are the best materials to use when cavities are small and constrained. Lead bricks and lead ingots for sale can be used in standard shapes, or Nuclead can fabricate them into any custom application, such as elevator weights.
• Cast lead billets and extrude Lead T- Caps: 1.00″ wide x 11/16″ joint depth x 25lbs. on spools. “Type A” = Flat cap for a general construction company in New England using lead products for a commercial application on a stone building. The lead construction materials Nuclead sells and produces, are made of soft lead or hard lead, and can be extruded into lead bar, lead blocks or lead roof flashing. Any custom application can be formed with Nuclead expertise.
