West Bridgewater, MA, 6/24/2022– Nuclead a leading manufacturer and distributor of custom and standard lead products for research, industry and consumers announces the delivery of several recent orders for Lead Plate and Antimony Lead.
Lead is an ideal material for use in many industries as it provides radiation protection, is malleable and offers significant corrosion resistance and sound insulation. In some applications alloys with Antimony provide for a product that is stiffer while providing similar radiation protection.
Nuclead can provide Lead Plate in sizes and alloys that can be specially fabricated ranging from 1/64″-3″ thick x 1/8″-96″ wide x lengths up to 25′.
Here are recent some shipments
- Extrude 3% Antimony/Lead Wire: 1/16″ dia. x 25lb spools. Sold to a lead in large commercial procurement company for resale to a government sub-contractor. The lead coil wire is manufactured into fine lead wire using lead billets.
- Cut Lead Plate 3/8″ Thick x 28.00″ wide x 44.00″ long. The lead plates for sale were shipped to a machine shop in New England. They will be fabricated the x ray lead sheets for lead shielding for radiation protection.
- Deliver 6% Antimony Lead Round: 8.50″ dia., x 5.00″ long into 4.50″ long slugs, to a machine shop in California for their own value-added services. The antimonial lead sheet is used with AMS 7721 specifications. The lead and antimony alloy and properties are certified to Nuclead ISO standards and provided to the customer.
- Provide cut lead sheet and lead plate package consisting of over 6,000# of lead sheeting. Nuclead delivered these lead supplies or various lead sheet sizes and lead sheet thicknesses to a local customer that does custom metal fabrication and precision sheet metal services.
- Cut lead sheeting to 3/4″ x 5.00″ x 36.00″, per QQ-L-201F Grade C. This lead product complies with ASTM B29 Copper-Bearing Lead and certified the same. Delivered to a medical OEQ in Washington State, for imaging equipment radiation shielding protect. The thick lead plate was stripped down into smaller widths, so they were manageable to handle.
- Cut Lead plate into the dimensions of 1/2″ x 24.00″ x 36.00″. The cut lead sheeting is used for pressure, cryogenic and ground storage vessels for radiation shielding. This lead metal was sold as bulk lead and was given our best pricing for the high volumes purchased.
- Deliver 6% Antimony lead sheet. 1/4″ x 12.125″ x 16.125″ to a laboratory in Pennsylvania. Antimony as an element alloyed to lead to make the product stiffer and harder.
- Cut Lead Plate: 1.00″ thick x 3.50″ width x 49.00″ length. Delivered to a machine shop in Kentucky for future CNC lead machining. The lead for sale at Nuclead is premium lead sheet and certified to our ISO standards to federal specifications.
- CNC machine per customer written blueprints using AMS-7721 Antimony Lead plate: 1/16″ x 48.25″ x 60.25″ lead sheeting. This antimony lead item is stiffer than soft lead. It was shipped to a government sub-contractor in Canada.
- Cut Lead Plate 1” thick x 3.50” wide x 49” long. The lead plates were cut to specifications and shipped to a machine shop in Kentucky for their own value-added services. The x ray lead will be machined and re-sold to a company using lead shielding for radiation shielding.
- Cut Lead Sheet: 0.5mm x 24.00″ x 24.00″. the lead sheeting is used as lead plate weight for a commercial fishing vessel in New England.
- Supply Lead Plate: 1/16″ x 36.00″ x 36.00″ to radiation protection OEM in New England. Nuclead provides lead sheets for sale for radiation shielding or x ray shielding. Lead foil and lead sheet metal can also be used along with lead plates for this type of protection. Lead sheet is also used for lead lined drywall and lead weights. The lead products come in pure lead or antimony lead grades for different applications.
- Extrude Package of 6% Antimony Lead rounds: 1.50″ Dia. x multiple Lengths. The lead for sale is used in the nuclear energy sector and for nuclear power plants as radiation shielding. Nonferrous metals such as lead metal and antimony lead metal are used for their dense element properties to stop radiation.
