Some of these shipments required significant fabrication activities, some just need to be cut to size or simply picked from our large in-stock inventory of lead products and some require valued added engineering services
Nuclead’s custom precision engineering services include mold fabrication as well as the production of lead alloy and other alloys, CNC machining, stamping and cutting, welding and lead assembly, lamination and PSA adhesive application.
Fabricated Lead Products
- Slice to special specifications Lead sheet: 1/64″ x 36.00″ x 84.00″. Sold and transported to a General contractor in New Jersey for a roofing job requiring these large, special pieces of lead roof flashing.
- Produce custom Lead Bricks: 2.00″ x 7.50″ x 7.50″. Sold to a precision instrument company in New England for its own value-added services.
- CNC Machine custom lead weight. Consign finished lead goods to a NIST approved fitting and gage OEM. These tight tolerance lead weights are used for testing and comparison tests
- Trim to size and deliver Lead Glass: Provided for customer preparation and assembly at Methodist Health Systems newest addition to their radiology department. 12.00″ x 15.00″ x 8.5-9.5mm x 5/64″Le x 150kv.
- Produce Nuclead Puritan brand Pure Caulking Lead: Five count of Virgin 5# ingots per ANSI / ASTM B29. Sold several tons and delivered to a heavy equipment engine OEM. This customer uses the pure lead for its manufacturing processes of lead gaskets.
- Lead laminate customer supplied x-ray Hoods & with lead stripped and lead sheeting, per sketches provided by Nuclead’s customer. The yield of 1/8” thick lead, At least 3/8” overlap &/or mitered joints was required for high x-ray activity. Nuclead used 3M Hi-Strength 90 the laminate the lead to the x-ray hoods. These units were shipped to a healthcare radiology department in Texas.
- Produce lead extrusion of Lead pipe: 1.00″ id x 1/4″ wall x 60.00″. Sold to a Water Treatment Plant in New Jersey for routine maintenance of their wastewater disposal system.
- Produce Babbitt, #4 Hardware Babbitt: 1-2% Tin/ 12-14% Antimony/ Balance Pb. Sold to a bearing OEM in Arkansas for its own manufacturing processes.
- Lead Cast, “Nuclead” Brand, Cast Square edges Lead Brick: 1.00″ x 4.00″ x 8.00″. Sold to The David A. Gardner PET Imaging Research Center at Columbia University Medical Center. It is a comprehensive imaging facility that includes 2 cyclotrons, an FDA-compliant production radio-chemistry and radio pharmacy, and 4 scanners.
From Inventory
- Circular cut and ship Lead Glass: Provided for customer prep &/or assembly. 8” diameter x 7-8mm x 1/16″Le x 150kv. Sold to a specialty metals wholesaler in Oregon, for resale in the medical market for unknown purpose.
- Pick and ship Lead 6% antimony: 5/8″ x 1.75″ x 9.25″, Raw material quoted for customers jobs. Delivered to a machine shop in California for their own value-added services.
- Pick and ship Lead pipe: 6.00″ id x 5/32″ wall x 61.00″ lg., Sold to an electrical contractor in Massachusetts for lead shielding.
- Deliver Cut Lead sheet: 3/32″ thick. Sold to a hammer manufacturer that uses the lead for its heavy, dense properties, to make dead blow hammers.
- Pick and ship Nuclead’s 1.50″ Lead Gutter Outlets @ 50 PCs. /carton and 1.25″ Lead Gutter Outlets @ 50 PCs. /carton. Sent to a national wholesaler for distribution to many national hardware stores.
